Federal District -- FedDub police broke up a rowdy protest Friday centered around the "Dunkelzahn Rift" outside of the Watergate hotel. The protesters, members of the esoteric organization known as the "Children of the Dragon", assembled to commune with astral space directly through the rift. The assembly became ugly after military personnel stationed near the rift asked them to move, as UCAS scientists have tried to make sure that exposure to the rift is kept to a minimum. The Children fought back, shoutinging anti-UCAS slogans and insisting on their right to "be one with the universe". Two people were arrested and are being held pending a bail hearing.
Japan -- Stock in Satsuko Engineering rose sharply today after a press conference held at their headquarters near Mount Suribachi on Iwo Jima. President Hejimi Tansoroku announced to the gathered press corps the completion of their new comprehensive Earthquake monitoring system. The system, which is to be licensed to the Japanese government, will provide early warning detection in the event of major seismic activity. Estimates for the new system suggest that up to 24 hours notice may be possible if conditions are just right. Said President Tansoroku "We are very happy to have had a hand in making our great nation safer. We look forward to future projects with the government of Nippon."
Sioux Nation -- Shocking news rippled through the geological world earlier this week after the discovery that Devil's Tower, the famed landmark that was once a mainstay tourist attraction for the former state of Wyoming, has grown from 262 meters to 356 meters despite the lack of any recorded seismic activity. This finding came after a Sioux shaman was hospitalized after attempting to access the astral plane in the area. The shaman did not return to his body for several hours, and was presumed dead. After being rushed to a nearby medical fascility, the shaman regained conciousness, but seemed to persist in some form of waking coma. The shaman was reported to mutter, over and over, "The Land is Awakened. The Land is Awakened". Elements of the famed Sioux "Wildcats" have sealed off the area immediately around Devil's Tower, and government scientists are reported to be at the scene.
